Patsy Jones,
BSN, RN CEO
A Better Alternative Nursing Agency
Patsy Jones brings 45 years of nursing experience to her mission of helping people receive compassionate, dignified care at home. Her background includes emergency, intensive care, cardiac, cardiovascular surgical, psychiatric, and kidney and liver transplant nursing. She learned under distinguished Maryland physicians, including early pioneers in bypass surgery. Her experience also includes correctional nursing, providing triage, health monitoring, and medication-related care for incarcerated men and women.
Her career spans bedside nursing, supervision, management, and executive leadership in major Maryland hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, and ventilator care settings. She spent approximately five years supervising ventilator care and five to six years teaching in practical nursing and certified nursing assistant programs throughout Maryland. These experiences shaped her commitment to staff preparation, accountability, and patient advocacy.
Patsy’s passion for home care became personal when her mother-in-law received inadequate care in a facility. Her private duty work with entertainers and political officials reinforced a conviction: every person deserves attentive, respectful care, regardless of income or circumstances. That belief guides her work with private-pay clients, Medicaid recipients, and families with limited resources.
As CEO of A Better Alternative Nursing Agency, her work encompasses home care, private duty nursing, patient advocacy, and hospital concierge services—helping families navigate care, communicate concerns, and coordinate safe transitions home. Her mission is expressed in the agency’s motto: “If your heart is at home, we aim to keep you there, no matter what we must do.”
She pursues this mission by exploring safe, appropriate care options that honor individual wishes. She emphasizes that clinically appropriate home care can reduce exposure to hospital-acquired infections while supporting independence and one-on-one attention. Her agency is also expanding toward preventive care and additional services, including IV infusion and genetic testing, with appropriate clinical oversight.
Patsy wrote this book to make home care understandable. Through practical guidance and questions to consider, she helps readers explore care options, choose providers, understand Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance limitations, and prepare financially. She also addresses patient rights, safety, family caregiver support, and end-of-life planning.
As a nurse, educator, minister, and advocate, her purpose is to help people make informed decisions and pursue care that honors their dignity, preferences, and lives.

Bruce Jones
COO
Bruce Jones actually began his lifelong passion for Senior Care and those sick and shut-in from an internship during early years of Ministry Training.
In those early days he would go to Nursing Homes and Convulsant facilities and assist in wheeling the patients to the areas where Church Services would be conducted and the conduct a Worship Service for them.
He later ventured into the Insurance Industry where he once again targeted the Senior market.
Now that my wife and I were led to start the ministry of "A Better Alternative Nursing Agency, Inc", we have fully embraced a service dear to the heart of God which is confirmed in Matthew 25:36-44-"I was sick, and ye visited me".
